Indexing
I specialize in preparing indexes for books, manuals, and journals. Indexes are prepared to
meet your style requirements and can be delivered in print, on disk, or electronically. My
goal is to meet the needs of the author, publisher, librarian and reader. All indexes are
prepared on time. I typically provide print indexes in RTF or Word format, on disk or
electronically and embedded indexes in XML or Word. Additional formats are available

Generally, I price by indexable page of text, which ranges from $2 to $6 per page. The
pricing depends on the complexity of the subject, the desired depth of the index, and the
size of the page. Here are my sample rates. Ideally, indexing begins as soon as the galleys
are ready and after editorial decisions affecting the pagination are made. If for any reason
the page numbers do change, please notify me immediately.

Proofreading
I proofread manuscripts, manuals, essays and research papers, and other print and
electronic material for publishers, authors, students, and businesses. I offer an objective
eye and quick turn around (usually one to three days depending on length and content) so
you can offer your best work to your audience, whether that's an editor, a professor, or
your customers.

Proofreading is usually $2 per page, based on the content and required turnaround time.
Proofreading includes spelling, punctuation, and grammar, adherence to a style guide or
assignment specifications if any, consistency, proper formatting including line breaks,
references, footnotes, tables, and adherence to chosen style. If you know your deadline, it
is best to book in advance.

Writing
I offer writing services as a freelance writer or contractor specializing in scientific and
clinical content. As a former senior clinical writer for the country's largest medical
information company, I bring a wealth of experience to the job and can adapt my writing
